Bring the Kids!

Get the kids involved in all of the fun of Philadelphia Marathon Race Weekend! Join us for the Nemours Children’s Health Philadelphia Kid’s Run, short distance, and non-competitive events for youngsters at Eakins Oval (adjacent to the Philadelphia Museum of Art).

This event is rain or shine and will take place on Sunday, November 23.

Race Weekend Schedule:

Join us for the Nemours Children’s Health Philadelphia Kid’s Run – a series of short distance dashes (based on age).

Children will get the thrill of running along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and will receive an event t-shirt, one finisher medal, and special goodies.

Come early and enjoy a variety of activities, including giant inflatables, balloon art, caricatures and temporary tattoos. The Philadelphia Union will be hosting soccer clinics and sharing physical health and fitness tips directly from their coaches.

Because this run is all about fun, athletes will not be timed. Runners may only compete in their age group. One race per child. Race distances are age specific.

To join the run, children must have a parent or guardian present. Adults may watch but are not allowed to participate in the run.

This event is rain or shine and will take place on Sunday, November 23. Races begin at 10:00 a.m.

Race Weekend Schedule:

Friday, November 21 (noon to 9 p.m.) – Health & Fitness Expo (Pennsylvania Convention Center, Hall F 12th & Arch Streets)

Online race registration (subject to availability) and bib pickup – come by the Nemours Children’s Zone to pick up your child’s race bib or get them registered! We’ll have some fun activities for kids to build excitement for Marathon Weekend.

Sunday, November 23 (8 a.m. to noon) – Eakins Oval (adjacent to 22nd Street & Benjamin Franklin Parkway)

Online race registration only (subject to availability) and bib pickup begins at 8 a.m.

Join us for the Nemours Children’s Health Philadelphia Kid’s Run – a series of short distance dashes (based on age) beginning at 10 a.m. Children will get the thrill of running along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and will receive an event t-shirt, one finisher medal, and special goodies.

We begin with our youngest participants and shorter distances at 10 a.m. with one mile distance for the 12 year olds as our last heat. The Nemours Children’s Zone has plenty of activities for our participants as they wait to be called to the start line!
