The 2025 AACR Philadelphia Marathon and the Dietz & Watson Philadelphia Half Marathon are now sold out, but a waitlist is available for signup (there is no guarantee you will be accepted). A credit card will be required to secure your place on the waitlist, but you will not be charged until a slot is available.

For guaranteed entry (while bibs are available) you may run for AACR Runners For Research (learn more) or see one of the official charity partners below who may have bibs available for fundraisers.

Note: Only the charities listed below are authorized to distribute Philadelphia Marathon Weekend bibs. No other organization or individual is authorized to distribute bibs. 

We do not allow the transfer of bibs between individuals – any offer to sell you a bib is not valid.

All courses are USATF certified and the AACR Philadelphia Marathon is a Boston qualifier event.

Expect beautiful views through Fairmount Park and along the Schuylkill River and neighborhood residents cheering in University City and Manayunk. Weave through the well-traveled streets of our historic district, passing sights familiar to Franklin, Washington and the rest of the gang, and end your race speeding towards the steps of the majestic Art Museum.

Dietz & Watson Philadelphia Half Marathon

Have the time of your life completing 13.1 miles! Athletes will start along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in the cultural Museum District and wind through Philadelphia’s most scenic and historic neighborhoods. 

From the history-steeped streets of Old City, through one of the liveliest stretches of Center City, across the Schuylkill River into University City, up through the bucolic trails of Fairmount Park, and back down to canvas the banks of the river before finishing in front of the renown Philadelphia Museum of Art. The course is also sanctioned by USA Track & Field.

Rothman Orthopaedics 8K

The Rothman Orthopaedics 8K (4.97 miles) is a fantastic way to take part in the race weekend excitement and follows the scenic banks of the Schuylkill River and Kelly Drive.

It’s usually perfect running weather too, with fall well underway and temperatures averaging around 54°F/12°C. Don your autumn apparel and join us for this enjoyable race where we redefine the standard for an 8K.

Nemours Children's Health Philadelphia Kid’s Run

Get the kids involved in all of the fun of Philadelphia Marathon Race Weekend! Join us for the Nemours Children’s Health Philadelphia Kid’s Run, a short distance, and non-competitive events for youngsters at Eakins Oval (adjacent to the Philadelphia Museum of Art).

The Challenges

Up for a challenge? Whether it be the Patriot Challenge (half and 8K), Independence Challenge (full and 8K), Liberty Bell Challenge (full and half) or the ultimate Freedom Challenge (full, half & 8K), these events are guaranteed to push you to the limit on race weekend!

What started as a small local event of just 1,500 participants has become one of the top 10 marathons in the country. The course guides participants through a unique experience of centuries of history and architecture, diverse and lively neighborhoods, and remarkable views throughout Fairmount Park and along the Schuylkill River. Each year, spectators line the course, eager to cheer on athletes, because there’s nothing Philadelphians love more than champions.
