2020 Philadelphia Marathon Weekend Cancelled

The 2020 Philadelphia Marathon Weekend of events including the AACR Philadelphia Marathon, the Dietz & Watson Philadelphia Half-Marathon, the Rothman Orthopaedics 8k and the Dunkin’ Munchkin Kids Run has been cancelled. The City of Philadelphia along with input from the Philadelphia Health Department made the difficult decision to cancel the races due to ongoing coronavirus health and safety concerns for runners, spectators, volunteers, staff and the many partners and community organizations that support the events scheduled for November 20-22, 2020.

We have 3 options that are available to you:

1.) DEFER YOUR ENTRY TO 2021, 2022 or 2023 RACE
ACTION REQUIRED IN YOUR RUNSIGNUP PROFILE

If you defer your registration, the creditable amount for any additional merchandise (excluding In-Training shirts that have been shipped) that you purchased will also defer with your registration fee. (Note: You will not need to pay again for deferring to another year).

To defer your registration, you will need to follow these steps:
Log into RunSignup.com
Go to Profile >>Upcoming Events
Next to your Philadelphia Marathon Weekend Registration, click Manage Registration
Click on the Defer Registration tab
Click on the Confirm Deferral button

2.) DONATE MY REGISTRATION FEE TO THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION FOR CANCER RESEARCH
ACTION REQUIRED IN YOUR RUNSIGNUP PROFILE

Log into RunSignup.com
Go to Profile >>Upcoming Events
Next to your Philadelphia Marathon Weekend Registration, click Manage Registration
Choose the option at the bottom of the page to donate your full registration fee to the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR)
If you donate your registration fee to AACR you will receive an official tax-deductible letter

3.) RECEIVE A FULL REFUND OF YOUR REGISTRATION FEE
ACTION REQUIRED IN YOUR RUNSIGNUP PROFILE

To receive a full refund, you will need to follow these steps NO LATER THAN 8/31/20
Log into RunSignup.com
Go to Profile >> Upcoming Events
Next to your Philadelphia Marathon Weekend Registration, click Manage Registration
Click on the REQUEST REFUND tab
When you have reviewed all of the information, and you are ready to remove yourself from the event, click on the button for “Issue Refund”.
Once complete, a confirmation message will let you know that you have been removed from the event. Once processed, your refund will be applied back towards the original card that was used for your registration. This should post within 5 business days of the refund request

If you do not complete any of the above actions through your RunSignUp profile by 8/31/20, your registration fee will automatically be deferred to the 2021 race on 9/1/20.

Cancellation FAQs

Your registration add-on(s) will follow your 2020 registration.

If you defer your 2020 registration, your add-on(s) will also be deferred.

If you request a refund for your 2020 registration, you will receive a refund for your add-on(s).
Note: If you donated directly to the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), this money will not be refunded.

If you donate your 2020 registration fee to American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), your addon(s) fee will also be donated to AACR.
There will not be either a physical or a virtual expo for 2020. However, we encourage you to patronize the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend partners.
There will NOT be a virtual AACR Philadelphia Marathon, a virtual Dietz & Watson Half Marathon or a virtual Rothman Orthopaedics 8K run for 2020.
Your company or organization will need to be signed up again for the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend Corporate Challenge when registration opens up for 2021.

Rothman Orthopaedics is the title partner of the Rothman 8K and Official Physicians of Marathon Race Weekend. In light of the current pandemic, Rothman Orthopaedics now offers Virtual Visits to its patients. For more information or to schedule an appointment, click here.
