THE COURSE

Running our course is the ultimate sweep through American history, from revolutionary times to the vibrant present day. From Betsy Ross's house and the Liberty Bell, through gorgeous 19th century Fairmount Park, to the hip districts of University City and Manayunk, the engrossing and beautiful landmarks along the way add a unique flavor to the experience.

We're among the top ten in the country, recognized for our not-too-difficult terrain, mellow weather and great atmosphere. Digital splits are provided at the 10K, 13.1 mile and 30K marks. Fluid stations are set up throughout the length of the course—as are spectator overlooks. And you'd better get ready for the crowds. Each year, spectators line the course, eager to cheer on runners, because there's nothing we love more in this town than a champion.
