THE COURSE

It's a Half Marathon, but it's not half a triumph! Run 13.1 challenging miles through some of the most scenic and historic neighborhoods of Philadelphia. From the history-steeped streets of Old City, through one of the liveliest stretches of Center City, across the bridge through the campuses of University City, up through the picturesque routes of Fairmount Park, and back down along the Schuylkill River. The course is also sanctioned by USA Track & Field.

The Half Marathon was added to Race Weekend in 2006 and has grown every year since. It has served as the perfect way for first-timers to test the waters of a Marathon experience, and it's a great event for runners just looking for a challenge on a beautiful and scenic course.

RULES

Bicycles, skateboards, scooters, baby joggers, strollers, roller skates and roller blades are not permitted on the course, which will remain open for seven hours from when the last runner has crossed the start line.

ALL HALF MARATHONERS WILL RECEIVE:

  • A technical shirt
  • Post-race refreshments

ALL FINISHERS WILL RECEIVE:

  • A finisher medal
  • A finisher certificate (available online following the race)

Cash prizes for the first five male and female finishers of the Half Marathon will be issued as follows:

  • 1st Prize $2,500 one male & one female +
  • 2nd Prize $1,000 one male & one female
  • 3rd Prize $500 one male & one female
  • 4th Prize $350 one male & one female
  • 5th Prize $250 one male & one female
  • 1st Masters $500 one male & one female

+ COURSE RECORD BONUS: $1000, one male & one female for each
