FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Garmin is the Official Timer and Running Watch
of 2018 Philadelphia Marathon Weekend

PHILADELPHIA – October 23, 2018 – The countdown is on! As you start your watch on the 25 days remaining until race day, the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Philadelphia Marathon is proud to announce Garmin International, Inc. as the official timer and running watch of the 2018 Philadelphia Marathon Weekend.

"We are very excited to welcome Garmin to our team of sponsors," remarked Leo Dignam, Executive Director of the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend of Events. "Garmin has a lot to offer our participants, including a running watch for every type of runner. Their products provide our runners with a great tracking medium and, in turn, a source of motivation as they train for Race Weekend."

As an official sponsor, Garmin will receive traditional sponsorship benefits, including branding exposure through on-site signage and engagement, marketing promotions, digital and social media. Garmin will also be recognized on the clocks along the course and at the finish line that help runners track their progress as they work towards achieving a personal best time.

"We are excited to participate in the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend as this year’s official timer and running watch, especially as part of the Marathon’s 25th anniversary celebration," said Susan Lyman, Garmin vice president of global consumer marketing. "Being involved in such a milestone makes this a great event to connect with thousands of runners from across the country who are out there on race day pushing to 'Beat Yesterday.'"

This announcement comes with just under one month until Race Day, and registration is ongoing. Those wishing to learn more or participate should visit www.philadelphiamarathon.com.
