Corral Line Up on Race Day & Wave Start
The color block on your race bib corresponds with the expected finish time you provided on your application. You can review the color corral groups at the bottom of this email, in the number pick-up area at the Health & Fitness Expo, as well as in the corral area on race day. Be sure to position yourself in your assigned color corral area at the race start. There will be a wave start according to color corral position. Marathoners and half marathoners with the same pace will line up together in the same color corrals. PLEASE ARRIVE IN TIME FOR THE 1ST START. DO NOT COUNT ON DELAYS There is no color corral associated with the Rothman Institute 8K race. held on Saturday, November 17. The race is self-seeding.
As noted in the application waiver that you signed during registration, bibs are non-transferable and cannot be transferred from one person to another. Your bib provides the Philadelphia Marathon with very important identifying information for the purposes of our medical program as well as scoring and timing. Transferring the bib would compromise these processes severely. We appreciate your cooperation with honoring this important guideline. Violation of this rule may prohibit you from participation in future Philadelphia Marathon events and disqualify you from awards and prize monies. Thank you for your understanding.
Changing Corral Assignment
- Runners are free to move back to a slower corral as desired. No official action is needed.
- If you wish to move up to a faster corral, please pick up your assigned bib number and bring it to the Solution Center in the Number Pick-Up area at the Expo. Do not wait until race day to request a corral change. Corral changes will not be made on race day.
Discarded Clothing at Race Start
Clothing receptacles will be provided for discarded clothing at the race start. Pass clothing to the left over the fence. To avoid creating a tripping hazard for fellow participants, DO NOT discard clothing on the ground or on the course. The Philadelphia Marathon will again collect discarded clothing for donation to the Bethesda Project, a network of supportive facilities serving Philadelphia's homeless and at-risk population.
All runners are expected to participate in the event for which they are officially registered. If you requested a change of event before the September 30th deadline and it is not reflected in this confirmation email, please bring a copy of your original email to the Solution Desk in the registration area at the Health & Fitness Expo where your request will be reviewed.

Choose Your Course for Carbo-Loading
The Philadelphia Marathon is excited to introduce a new way for runners to carbo load on Saturday evening, November 17th. We are working with restaurants throughout Philadelphia, primarily in Center City, Old City, Manayunk and Fairmount neighborhoods to offer runners and their guests a prix-fixe menu. Most menu offerings range from $20-$40 per person. A full list of participating restaurants and their prix-fixe menus can be found under Weekend Activities / Choose Your Course at www.philadelphiamarathon.com. We will provide runners a list of participating restaurants, their menu offerings, along with reservation information, both on the Philadelphia Marathon website and at the Health & Fitness Expo. You pick the restaurant and make the reservation. Be sure to make your reservation early, as available spots are bound to fill up quickly. Visit us at the Expo at the Temple University School of Tourism and Hospitality's Marathon Lounge for help with directions to your dining destination.
Volunteers are still needed to support pre-race and race day activities. Click here to visit our webpage to volunteer at one of the activities during race weekend. All volunteers will receive a commemorative shirt.
